A singer’s singer — with a story audiences already know by ear.

Lisa Layne has spent a lifetime doing what great country singers do: making the song believable.

Born in Tyler and raised in the Dallas area, Lisa began singing professionally as a child. After high school she formed Beaver Creek, singing lead and playing bass, before joining Vince Vance & The Valiants for the 1986–1991 road years. During that run she recorded the lead vocal on All I Want for Christmas Is You — a performance that became part of country radio’s holiday soundtrack.

Her road then moved through Nashville, national theater touring, Branson, Texas dancehalls, television, fairs, casinos and the Grand Ole Opry. She can front a straight-ahead classic-country show, inhabit the Patsy Cline catalog with theatrical authority, or turn a holiday room around with a song listeners have heard for decades.

What ties every version together is the voice: big enough for a theater, honest enough for a dancehall, and seasoned enough to know when not to oversing the lyric.

You already know her voice.

Lisa is the original lead vocalist on Vince Vance & The Valiants’ All I Want for Christmas Is You. The recording has lived on country radio, holiday playlists and seasonal stages for decades.

At Lisa’s Grand Ole Opry debut in December 2022, Gene Watson introduced her and the song. After the first Opry show, she was asked to perform it again on the second show — a pretty good reminder that the song still lands when the original voice is standing in the room.

That story gives presenters something rare: a recognizable holiday song, the singer who made the famous recording, and a live show that can stand on more than nostalgia.

Three strong booking lanes. One unmistakable singer.

Choose the Lisa Layne presentation that fits the room, season and audience.

She returned with Gene Watson in December 2023, was officially billed again in November 2024, and appeared during the Opry 100 season on November 29, 2025.

Steel guitar history standing beside her.

Al “Boo” Miller — Lisa’s husband and longtime musical partner — was inducted into the Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame on March 9, 2024, with Gene Watson presenting the honor.

Boo is Gene Watson’s steel guitarist and a member of the Farewell Party Band. At the Hall of Fame event, Lisa joined the band to perform “Someone Had to Teach You.”

For presenters, that connection is more than a résumé line. It is part of the musical credibility around Lisa’s classic-country lane: players who know the language, the history, and how those songs are supposed to breathe.
